European Trip #5 Lucerne, Switzerland

European trip musings #5: Ahhhhh…..Lake Lucerne. One of the first things I fell in love with in Switzerland. This lake is the fourth largest in Switzerland, at 44 square miles, with a maximum depth of just over 700 feet. With its four basins, it resembles the shape of a cross. Surrounded by the Pilatus and Rigi mountains, this alpine lake has a fjord like appearance. It is believed to have been formed as a glacial lake about 12,000 years ago, at the end of the Ice Age. #lucerne #swisslake #lakelucerne #alpinelake
