European Trip #2: Lucerne, Switzerland

European trip musings #2: Here are some pics of Lucerne from the car. We stopped by Lucerne after landing in Zurich, on our way to Sion, Switzerland. This was also our first experience of finding (and navigating) a parking space. Parking garages in Europe seem to be largely underground. Something us Floridians are not used to, given our high water tables. Our rental car was a Kia Ceed; the equivalent of a Ford Focus. Not a large car, yet, navigating parking spots was often a challenge, as the aisles of the parking garages offered no room to maneuver. In all the miles we covered in the rental car, the most notable thing missing was large vehicles. Large by our standards, such as no big SUVs, trucks, or vans. 90% of the cars, regardless of make/model, were of a compact size.

Craft Room: Window Treatment

It definitely does not account for any privacy, but I think it is a super cute idea! Using paint buckets, along with colored tulle fabric, this window treatment gives the effect of paint being poured out of the buckets. This makes a whimsical window treatment for any craft room! European Trip #1: Flight on Edelweiss

European trip musings #1: We booked this trip back in March. Tampa International had just started direct flights from Tampa to Zurich with Edelweiss operating under Swiss International. We booked airfare for $593pp round trip and direct, which is AMAZING. General international airfare is on the average of $1200pp. Flight accommodations in economy were superb. The flight out was largely empty, so we each had an extra seat next to us. We received a snack, a dinner, and a light breakfast.

Snowman (Shaker) Card

I love unique cards, and I also love shaker cards. What prompted me to save the photo of this card was the circle cutouts that contained stamped images. The bonus was that the largest cutout was a shaker accent. I think the coloring on this card is also fabulous, as it is just enough as to really accent the images and does not overpower them. The added doodling around the cutout circles is also a subtle, yet effective, detail, that draws the eye to those points. (Photo source unknown.)

Packers vs Giants, 2023

In December 2023, my bf suggested a very spontaneous trip to see the Green Bay Packers play the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium, in New Jersey. I was super excited…thinking of all the things I was going to see as we traveled to “New York”. Hmmmm…failing to realize that the game was in NJ, which of course is also where our hotel was, the only NYC I saw was on the Uber ride from the airport. We did manage to check out an iHop that was just a few minutes away from our hotel. It was on this trip that I made the firm realization and decision that if there was to be a “spontaneous and quick” trip to watch the Packers play, it was going to be a must miss for me! ;p

WDW Essential: Frozen Strawberry Lemonade

A must for every time I visit a WDW park is a Minute Maid Frozen Strawberry Lemonade. These are such a refreshing treat, especially on hot days (of which there are many). The trick is, finding the strawberry flavor. All of the refreshment kiosks/carts in the parks offer the lemonade flavor, but only a select few offer the strawberry flavor. Stumbling upon the kiosk/carts that offers the strawberry flavor is always a huge win! ;p

Craft Room: Shelves

Shelving in the craft room is an absolute must, if possible. Especially if you have a large (and varied!) craft supply collection. The shelving in this photo is simple, and adorned with different sized containers for organization. I especially love what the creator did with the drawer organizer; where the drawers are different colors. Baskets, pails, and other containers can always be used to separate and store a variety of different supplies. The shelves and various containers take a small space and maximize it for an organized way to store supplies. (Photo source unknown.)

Craft Room: IKEA Inspiration

I have used IKEA pieces in my home for years. One of my favorite pieces to use in my craft room is the Kallax shelving unit, that replaced the Expedit. These storage cubes are wonderful because you can purchase and add doors, drawers, and shelves, to add to the individual cubes to maximize your storage space. I especially love the set up in this photo, and I believe that all of the pieces are from IKEA. (Photo source unknown.)

Epcot 2025 Flower & Garden Festival: Moana & Friends

Every year for Epcot’s Flower & Garden Festival, the front entrance features one of many topiary displays that guests will see throughout the park. This year, the front feature was Moana, along with friends Maui, Pua, and Hei Hei. Coincindentally, Journey of Water, a walkthrough attraction in Epcot that opened in October of 2023, was inspired by the film Moana. I felt that the Moana and friends topiary welcoming guests to the Flower & Garden Festival as the front display was a perfect way to remind Epcot guests to visit and experience Journey of Water.
